One of those days when we decided to escape our usual Siew Long Bao craving a.k.a Dragon-i and go for taiwanese cuisine before heading to our friday-night-is-movie-night!
Everyone's toughest question, "What to eat?"
Original Pearl Milk Tea - RM4.90
So when you have a friend visiting Malaysia, you would surely recommend him/her Teh Tarik. Now that you're visiting Taiwan, what should you drink? Of course the Original Pear Milk Tea loh.
Dragon Fruit Juice - Rm5.90
PM me if you need to purchase this antic phone. Hmm prolly I will need to pay you to have it :P
Now we had made the decision on where to dine without flipping a coin and yet we still bump to another TOUGH question, "what to order?" Go ala-carte or dinner set? Such a tough decision as all of us were gazing on the menu. Anyway we opted for dinner set that comes with a bowl of rice with sauce, vege, fried wantan, main dish and soup. Besides, you have the option to choose braised minced pork rice or white rice. Such a good steal, isn't it?
Minced Pork Sauce Noodle - RM9.90
But Kim Leong decided to be odd by ordering minced pork sauce noodle. It would be perfect if topped with dry chilli though.
Chicken with Scallion Sauce Set - RM18.90
Synonymous to chicken rice except the chicken was a disappointment as the meat was quite hard that you find it hard to chew.
Chicken 3 Variety Set - RM18.90
If you love Kung Po chicken, I believe this dish is the main dish you should order. The meat is soft & tender add on bit of spicy, well all things being perfect except excessive oil. This has turned me down slightly, I still love it nonetheless.
Honey Roasted Drumstick Set - RM17.90
Herbal Chicken Soup - Missing momma's homemade soup? Now try this!
Since I'm not a frequent eating-at-home daughter, I can always dine in XDW anytime to have a bowl of healthy soup without being forced by momma to drink her bitter soup. Upon reaching home, I can just tell momma, "I've already had a bowl of BITTER soup just now!" Well you know, you can't always be truthful to parents :p I have no issue on drinking Guinness, but I have BIG issue on drinking bitter soup, specifically bitter guard soup! Urghhh, who likes it?
I've probably said this countless times but would love to say it again. Nice ambience, fair price, and mouth-watering food are what we're looking for :) It's definitely not a nerd-looking guy posing in front of the restaurant! :P
p/s : So sorry if the food doesn't look appealing to you since I left the camera at home at such a bad timing :(

Palate Palette @ Jln Mesui, KL
"Palate. Palette. Same pronunciation, similar spelling. We like wordplay"
Palate refers to the senses that perceive taste; while palette to the artistic spectrum of colour, materials and ingredients involved. With this playful philosophy, Palate Palette aims to tickle ALL your senses. The inspiration behind Palate Palette is truly love – love of people, good food and creativity as well as an urge to challenge conformity in amusing ways
Stumbled upon their website and immediately send the link to Lern since I had the urge to try this place. Such a coincident, it was also the place Lern and his bro had photo shoot at. Without any hesitation, here we are!
Palm trees wrapped with a rainbow of colours and an ingenious astroturf-covered wall greet you.
Art in all forms is splashed by different artists across the outlet's walls, floors, ceilings and even menu! Perhaps, this is their way of presenting art.
I wish someone could paint this on my wall.
He just can't runaway from Guinness
A lil hard bun topped with sesame seeds (It'd be much better if served warm and soft)
Chicken Lollipops - RM10
Served with roasted chili mayo
"Fish & Chips" - RM19
Tempura fried Dory fish with assorted potato and yam chips. Our twist on the classic!
Tired of having typical deep fried fish fillet and fries? Be sure to order this appealing dish during your visit! I like this a lot, in fact very much.
Sundried Tomato Battered Chicken Chop - RM27
Served with buttered corn on the cob and garlic mash potatoes
Did you realize we had too much fried stuff? Such a huge mistake as both of us were down with slight sore throat. Anyway, Sundried tomato battered chicken was good and mash potatoes deserves two thumbs up too.
"Sucking too hard on your lollipop..." - Mika
"I'll kill you if this photo turns out bad"
Happy us :)
Overall, I like the place a lot in many aspects, ambience, food, service, price (average) and not forgetting, the paintings on the wall! So how would I not recommend to you? Since it's situated behind splurging zone (changkat bukit bintang), you shall give it a try. :) If you do, REMEMBER to visit its washrooms! It sounds improper but it's a great tips :) It amused me till I had to force Lern to visit as well.

Tim Pun Gor Gor @ SS2
This is so pathetic, photos below are taken with iPhone's camera without embedded flash. What to do, DSLR is having sweet holiday in New Zealand for a week.
Now let's put watever fine dine or pork galore aside and we shall crave for sugar a.k.a dessert.
Tim Pun Gor Gor, a Hong Kong styled dessert and tong shui shop was first opened in Metro Perdana, Kepong has finally opened its new branch in SS2. Situated few shops away from Kei Tak Sek(KTZ), TPGG is not just competing with KTZ and it saves the hassle of traveling to Kepong. Whenever I have a sudden craving for dessert, fret not! Just drive to SS2!
Durian & Mango Pancake Roll (RM7.50)
Served chilled and strong durian flavours was a nice treat for durian lovers. The smooth and thin outer layer of green-coloured pancake is stuffed with cream and durian fillings, I liked it!
I felt the durian's taste strong and overpowering the flavor of cream rolled within. On the other hand, mango pancake roll was a slight disappointment to me as the mango taste was minimal.
Sago with Mango - RM7.00
Chewy sago and mango in coconut milk
Almond + Walnut sweet soup - RM3.50
A lil bit diluted, adequate sweetness, and not too creamy but I didn't quite like it. If you do, you may opt for larger bowl at the price of RM7.00
Bean curd with Mango - RM7
Wei Cheng was brave enough on trying bean curd with mango though it might sound a bit errr.. "weird". The combination will be perfect with soya milk, but bean curd with mango really does a magic. Pooof, smooth beancurd topped with mango was served cool from the fridge. It's undeniably awesome! And now I was told by Alice there is bean curd with chocolate in HK. It does sound a bit euww but I'm eager to try. Any free golden ticket to HK?
The night ended with awesome dessert right after steamboat porridge in Klang. And i hate reminding myself that I've put on weight, literally! That's not my main priority, what's important is my upcoming trip to Kota Kinabalu. Can't wait for food escape with few makan partners!

Bermuda & Onion @ Changkat
It was so random that we decided to hit B&O again for the sake of pork ribs as I gave it up on my previous visit. But this time we have two partners to tag along a.k.a contribute their stomach to clear the food :P
Hot Chocolate - RM10
Watermelon Juice - RM10
Jun is pretty amazed by the watermelon.
Lern's Signature Guinness Stout
Skewer Combo - RM32
Prawn & Parma Ham, Asparagus & Bacon, Scallops & Parma Ham
Wild Boar Fettucine - RM28
As I mentioned earlier that I'd definitely recommend this dish to everyone and that's why we gave it a shot again.
Rigatoni Amatriciana - RM26
Tomato-sauce Penne with Braised Onion & Bacons
BBQ Pork Mixed Platter - RM72
Pork Ribs, Pork Loins, Pork Belly, Pork Sausages, Beans, Roasted Potatoes, Braised Beans & Fried Onions
Nothing but pork, does it deserve anymore description? Such a sinful & heaven dish that could easily kill a person who is on diet plan, literally! Be sure you can handle this feasting as this giant portion can serve four person. Pork sausages and pork belly won over my heart just after a bite but I personally felt that pork ribs failed to catch my heart. Although the ribs were meaty & tender, Lern had hard time in biting off the meat easily like how he did in Hurricane. I'm sounding a lil bias, but Hurricane's Grill really does deserve thousand & millions of return (if you were in Sydney)
Dua Jakun were attracted by the giant portion of pork mixed platter.

Spaghetti Grill @ Midvalley
As recommended by Lern, Spaghetti Grill is a subsidiary of Chili's that serves American and Italian food.
The interior of Spaghetti Grill is a replica of Chili's except SG If Chili's has a lounge-cum-bar section, and so does Spaghetti Grill which allows you to enjoy happy hour at all day.
Being an indecisive girl, I couldn't decide to go for pizza or spaghetti as SG has choices less than Chili's .To pick something out of norm, I opt for dinner set at the price of RM16.95 with a choice of main course, soup and beverage. Believe me, I doubt you can ever get this dinner set at Chili's. You get to choose pasta, pizza or sandwich or you could eat healtier by picking salad & fry. Not to mention, beverage is bottomless so you can have it all day long.
Mushroom soup served with Jacob's cracker
The combination is so perfect that I could literally order another bowl.
Seafood Pasta - tossed with lobster cream and mixed seafood
Chicken Cubes - RM9.90
Tender & soft bite-sized pieces of all white meat chicken
Grilled Leg of Lamb - RM28.95
Marinated grilled leg of lamb served with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side of fresh veggies and a slice of garlic toast
Lern & his food :)
Food and ambiance are pretty satisfying except that service was quite slow and inefficient compared to Chili's. The waitress was a bit clueless when I said "take away". Not too sure if she understood my english, but at least I did not pronounce it wrongly like Ris Low. Besides being frustrated at the service, Lern was happy to save money on his bottomless beverage that costs RM8.95.But, how did we get it for free?
They served Lern the beverage after so long without placing the order into the system!
SG is highly recommended and certainly deserves another try. If there's revisit, I would surely go for the brick oven wood fire pizza.
Last but not least, Happy 21st Buttock!
The happy girl can't wait to get her freedom key.
